Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is hiring Stand-Up Forklift Operators in Columbia, South Carolina. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a safety-forward culture.

Second shift 6:00 pm - 6:00 am with 2/2/3 schedule and 36/48 hour cycles. Equipment includes stand-up and high-reach forklifts handling boxed pasta products. Qualified applicants have a high school diploma or equivalent, forklift certification, and 1+ year warehouse experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ year related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Ability to be a team player and work within a diverse environment.
• Detail oriented with good attendance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse tasks including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Follow contract performance guidelines and quality standards.
• Ensure accurate picking, packing, auditing, tote induction, and loading/unloading of trucks.
• Handle related paperwork such as picking sheets, returns, and bills of lading.
• Provide maintenance support for automated packing systems during production hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Warehouse Forklift Operator / Driver Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay: $19.66 per hour effective 8/30 (17.50/hour until 8/30)
• Shift Pay: $1.00 per hour
• Additional Pay: $5.00 per hour extra, when working a Saturday or Sunday
• Schedule: Second Shift 6:00 pm - 6:00 am
• 2 days on, 2 days off, and 3 days on. 36 hours one week and 48 the next, in continuous cycle - every other weekend will be a 3 day weekend off.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting
• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks
• Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production
• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Performs other duties as assigned.
