Job summary

Ryder is hiring Stand-Up Forklift Operators in Columbia, South Carolina. The role involves operating stand‑up and high reach forklifts in a fast-paced warehouse environment with weekly pay and strong benefits.

Shifts run second shift from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am with a 2-on/2-off and 3-on pattern, including weekend work. Training is provided, and an emphasis on safety and teamwork supports career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Provide maintenance support for automated packing system during core shift hours.

Warehouse Forklift Operator / Driver Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay: $19.66 per hour effective 8/30 (17.50/hour until 8/30)
• Shift Pay: $1.00 per hour
• Additional Pay: $5.00 per hour extra, when working a Saturday or Sunday
• Schedule: Second Shift 6:00 pm – 6:00 am
• 2 days on, 2 days off, and 3 days on. 36 hours one week and 48 the next, in continuous cycle – every other weekend will be a 3 day weekend off.

Ryder Warehouse Associates work in clean, organized, and well‑run facilities to provide the safest supply chain environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse function, which may include loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and, cycle counting
• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Responsible for the accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging of products and loading and unloading of trucks
• Responsible of dealing with day to day paperwork in a warehouse environment (i.e. picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for different aspects related to the automated packing system during the core shift hour of production
• Performing duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Performs other duties as assigned.
