Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina is hiring Reach Truck Operators to join a team that prioritizes safety and efficient warehouse operations in a clean, well‑run facility.

You will operate reach trucks and sit-down forklifts, read WMS order instructions, pull and stage orders, and maintain accurate documentation while following safety policies. Overtime and weekend shifts are common with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of two years of related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines and work instructions in English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into computer systems and operate WMS.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply WMS order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors to protect the customer.
• Pull orders accurately and stage them for carrier locations.
• Prepare receiving, storage, and shipping documentation.
• Operate fork-lift equipment and other warehouse machinery.

Warehouse Forklift Operator / Driver Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay: $20.00 per hour

• Overtime Pay: $30.00 per hour

• Shift Premium: $1.00 per hour

• Schedule: Monday-Friday 4:30pm - 3:00am or 2:30pm-11:00pm and frequent overtime assigned on Saturdays with short notice

• Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for the purposes of safety, work instructions, policies, etc.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted

• Ability to input data into computer system

• Work overtime as assigned

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions

• Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer

• Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.

• Pull orders accurately as assigned

• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location

• Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process

• Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures

• May be required to train others in various warehouse functions, including the safe operation of various powered industrial lift equipmen, perform housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned

• Operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
