Job summary

Lactalis is seeking a Forklift Operator based in Buffalo, New York, for the 3rd shift with weekend work required. You will perform shipping and receiving duties and handle daily computer transactions to support the manufacturing facility.

Key responsibilities include safe forklift operation, routine safety checks, accurate inbound documentation, and FIFO stock rotation. This role emphasizes teamwork with production and a strong emphasis on safety and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experienced forklift operation knowledge; warehouse experience with perishable and dry goods preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Knowledge of computer software, inventory control, cycle counts, and FIFO systems formats preferred.
• AS400 Prism knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operates a forklift in a safe and responsible manner.
• Documents safety checks on tow motor prior to use.
• Ensures accurate documentation of inbound paperwork.
• Completes activity movement sheets daily.
• Rotates stock in a FIFO format.
• Selects the proper product for production needs.
• Maintains a clean work environment daily.
• Maintains and operates the RF terminals daily.
• Works closely with the production departments.
• Maintains open communication between fellow workers.
• Reports any product or property damage to supervisor.
