Job summary

Andersen Corporation is seeking a skilled forklift operator for our Bayport, MN facility. You will safely operate PIT equipment, sort and stage materials, and support shipping, receiving and cross-docking duties.

The role requires attention to safety, accuracy in paperwork, and teamwork across departments. Minimum 3 years of forklift experience, ability to read invoices and reports, and proficiency with multiple PIT types are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years forklift experience is required.
  • Ability to read invoices, packing slips, emails and reports to determine delivery location.
  • Must operate multiple PIT types (forklift, sit-down, walkie rider).
  • Strong problem solving, teamwork and good communication skills.
  • Adherence to safety standards and quality guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift safely to sort, ship, receive and move materials.
  • Create bills of lading and verify deliveries; stage inbound/outbound material.
  • Cross-dock materials and transport between plant areas as needed.
  • Train and assist co-workers; support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow standard work and safety policies; maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with support staff for loading/unloading and issue fixes.

Works with support staff on keeping standard work documents current and relevant to defined output.Complies to safety parameters defined to protect equipment, facility and co-workers.Support and participate in Continuous Improvement and capture daily Safety Interactions.Identify problems and implement fixes for common issues with the use of AMS tools and standards for continuous improvement concepts, and works with the support staff, management and maintenance on corrective action to resolve.Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.Rotate as required through multiple duties (sorting, loading/ unloading, checking-in material, cross-docking, transporting material to and from all areas of plant).
