Job summary

Delta Steel, Inc. is seeking a warehouse operator to load/unload inventory and move steel using heavy capacity fork truck equipment under supervisor direction.

The role involves operating forklifts, stacking materials, and maintaining accurate inventory records while coordinating with different warehouse areas to meet daily demands. Candidates should be safety-minded and reliable for overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write.
• Preferred candidates will have heavy capacity fork truck experience, material handling experience, and experience working with steel.

Responsibilities

• Operate fork forklift to lift, move, position, and reposition steel and heavy material to stock areas.
• Load and unload trailers and railroad cars.
• Drive and operate the forklift in a variety of conditions and spaces.
• Log and report inventory location changes into the inventory system and/or paperwork.
• Log and tag inventory received according to the procedure.
• Assemble customer orders according to work orders.
• Record pertinent material information to work orders and related forms.
• Maintain precise accuracy and coordinate with multiple warehouse areas.
