Job summary

Fuchs Gruppe North America is seeking a Forklift Operator to safely operate forklifts, manage inventory counts, and oversee daily shipping and receiving operations. You will assist drivers, load and unload trucks, and ensure smooth material flow within a manufacturing/warehouse environment.

The role requires a valid forklift certification, ability to lift up to 50+ pounds, and fundamental computer skills to process receiving in the system. On-site work in Hampstead, MD, with standard PPE usage.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year related experience or training.
• Must be able to read and interpret safety and operating instructions.
• Ability to drive a certified forklift.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to move inventory and oversee inbound/outbound shipments.
• Assist forklift drivers and maintain accurate counts.
• Load/unload trucks and schedule trucks for shipments.
• Print pick lists and BOLs; maintain organized warehouse.
• Lock/unlock warehouse at shift start/end and monitor warehouse.

Job description

The forklift operator safely operates forklifts to move and manage inventory while maintaining accurate counts. Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations, including processing inbound and outbound shipments and ensuring efficient material flow.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting forklift drivers
• Safe operation of forklift
• Handling of inventory counts
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Scheduling of trucks for incoming and outgoing shipments
• Printing of the pick list and BOL
• Maintaining clean and organized warehouse
• Monitoring of warehouse
• Receiving material in system
• Lock and unlock warehouse at beginning and end of shift

Required Qualifications

• Ability to assist in directing the activities of employees within department,
• Must be a team player with the ability to develop and maintain a team environment.
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED);
• One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers; read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and; able to speak effectively to departmental employees.
• Possess working knowledge of basic computer skills.
• Ability to drive fork truck with certification.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing/warehouse setting with exposure to moving equipment, noise, dust particles and varying temperatures.
• Use of PPE required (e.g. safety shoes, high-visibility vest, glasses, gloves).
