Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow GMP and plant safety procedures at all times.
• Communicate clearly with Michael Foods employees, drivers and vendors.
• Maintain a clean, organized dock and warehouse area with good housekeeping.
• Participate in safety training and support quarterly safety goals.
• Report food safety or quality concerns to management promptly.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating the movement of ingredients and packaging materials within the Lenox warehouse. This includes unloading and receiving shipments, accurately storing materials, and ensuring proper stock rotation. The role directly supports the Supply Chain vision of making Michael Foods, Inc. a leader in effective, responsive, and innovative supply chain practices within the food processing industry, while strategically contributing to sustainable and profitable growth.This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. The Receiving Clerk ensures compliance with all Food Safety and Quality procedures to minimize product and process variability, protecting both our customers and our brand.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform daily SAP transactions to maintain accurate and up-to-date material inventory.
• Apply knowledge of material management and distribution practices, including FIFO (First-In, First-Out).
• Safely operate PIT equipment (forklift and power jack) with internal certification, such as unloading trailers and placing materials in designated racking.
• Follow established warehouse procedures and maintain compliance with plant GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with Michael Foods employees.
• Consistently wear and maintain required PPE (bump cap, steel-toe footwear, insulated clothing).
• Participate in monthly safety training, stay informed of company safety policies, and actively contribute to achieving quarterly safety goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized dock and warehouse area, ensuring good housekeeping standards.
• Take personal responsibility for creating a safe and healthy workplace; integrate safety and health into all tasks and responsibilities.
• Follow quality work practices to maintain product integrity, report any food safety or quality concerns to management immediately and ensure regulatory compliance at all times.
• Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
• Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
