Job summary

Michael Foods, Inc. in Lenox, Iowa seeks a Receiving Clerk to coordinate movement of ingredients and packaging materials in the Lenox warehouse, unload shipments, store materials, and rotate stock. The role supports supply chain goals and enforces Food Safety & Quality practices to minimize variability.

Must comply with safety rules, wear PPE, and work the 1:30PM-10:00 PM shift. Prior SAP experience and forklift certification are valued assets in a fast-paced food processing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent).
• Basic math skills with the ability to perform simple calculations.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply common sense in daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily SAP transactions to maintain accurate and up-to-date material inventory.
• Apply knowledge of material management and distribution practices, including FIFO (First-In, First-Out).
• Safely operate PIT equipment (forklift and power jack) with internal certification, such as unloading trailers and placing materials in designated racking.
• Follow established warehouse procedures and maintain compliance with plant GMPs.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with Michael Foods employees.
• Wear and maintain required PPE (bump cap, steel-toe footwear, insulated clothing).
• Participate in monthly safety training, stay informed of company safety policies, and contribute to safety goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized dock and warehouse area, ensuring good housekeeping standards.
• Take personal responsibility for a safe and healthy workplace; integrate safety and health into all tasks.
• Follow quality work practices to maintain product integrity and report any concerns to management.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for coordinating the movement of ingredients and packaging materials within the Lenox warehouse. This includes unloading and receiving shipments, accurately storing materials, and ensuring proper stock rotation. The role directly supports the Supply Chain vision of making Michael Foods, Inc. a leader in effective, responsive, and innovative supply chain practices within the food processing industry, while strategically contributing to sustainable and profitable growth.

This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. The Receiving Clerk ensures compliance with all Food Safety and Quality procedures to minimize product and process variability, protecting both our customers and our brand.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform daily SAP transactions to maintain accurate and up-to-date material inventory.

• Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with Michael Foods employees.
• Consistently wear and maintain required PPE (bump cap, steel-toe footwear, insulated clothing).
• Participate in monthly safety training, stay informed of company safety policies, and actively contribute to achieving quarterly safety goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized dock and warehouse area, ensuring good housekeeping standards.
• Take personal responsibility for creating a safe and healthy workplace; integrate safety and health into all tasks and responsibilities.
• Follow quality work practices to maintain product integrity, report any food safety or quality concerns to management immediately and ensure regulatory compliance at all times.
• Accountable for a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and health in all jobs and tasks.
• Adhere to Quality work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
