Job summary

Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) in Houston, TX is seeking a dependable forklift operator to load and unload trucks, move materials around the plant, and support a busy manufacturing workflow.

You will operate a forklift and related equipment, verify quantities, follow production tickets, maintain clean work areas, and adhere to safety protocols to help keep operations efficient and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow work instructions and production tickets.
• Good hand/eye coordination and ability to sort items.
• Prior experience driving a forklift.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks, operates a standard forklift and related equipment and tools; moving materials throughout the plant.
• Unloads incoming materials from trailers using a forklift or other equipment; checks quantities against purchase orders and enters orders.
• Organizes and stocks raw materials; keeps the area clean; adheres to housekeeping requirements.
• Performs daily checks for maintenance and safe operation of the forklift.
• Maintains workstation in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion; follows safety procedures.
