Job summary

Ferrero is seeking a forklift operator to move pallets between production staging and warehouse locations, and to load trucks for shipment. You will also deliver pallets to production lines and ensure proper labeling, while maintaining accuracy in shipping/receiving and QA checks.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience and a High School diploma, with strong attention to safety, GMP compliance, and English communication skills.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience, 6+ months in a similar setting.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in English.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use a calculator.
  • General Knowledge of computers.
  • Excellent attendance record.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift to move pallets from production staging to warehouse locations and to loading a truck for shipment.
  • Transport pallets to production lines and move finished product to and from warehouse storage.
  • Utilize handheld computer/RF system; follow procedures if the system malfunctions.
  • Manage shipping and receiving of raw materials and finished products.
  • Conduct material audits, verify pallet labeling, commodity code, pallet tag number, and pallet integrity before transport.
  • Follow FEFO (first expired/first out) rotation for WIP products.

Job description

Main Responsibilities:
  • Operating forklift in order to move pallets of product from the production staging areas to the warehouse locations and/or from warehouse to loading a truck for shipment
  • Operating forklift to deliver pallets of product into production lines; transporting semi and finished product to and from warehouse storage
  • Operates handheld computer in the event that the RF system malfunctions
  • Manages shipping and receiving of raw material and finished product
  • Conducting material audits and checking each pallet for correct labeling, commodity code, pallet tag number, and pallet integrity before transporting to the intended process
  • Inspect material handling equipment and wooden pallets for damage and cleanliness prior to use and store
  • Utilizing scanning equipment and computers for finished goods, understanding shelf life and lot codes and following FEFO (first expired/first out) rotation for WIP products
  • Work at finished goods palletizer
  • Load trucks direct from the line with finished goods
  • Recognizes, addresses, and escalates all quality issues; communicates issues and problems to Supervisor and rest of team
  • Follows safety regulations and maintains compliance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Comply with all applicable food laws, regulations, and food safety requirements
  • Perform related duties as assigned or required
