Job summary

US FOODS, a leading food distributor, is seeking a NIGHT Forklift Operator in Charlotte, NC. The role involves moving pallets, stocking, and performing safety checks in cooler and freezer environments. The schedule is Sunday–Thursday with an early starter and a pay rate of $23.57 per hour.

Benefits start day one, including health/dental/vision and 401(k). Experience with material handling equipment and Voxware commands is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related experience: forklift certification; prior selector and/or forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write legibly; basic math skills; understand Voxware commands.

Responsibilities

• Transport pallet loads from dock to correct warehouse slot using powered equipment and secure pallets to prevent damage or injury.
• Replenish pick slots from reserve slots to maintain night shift inventory levels.
• Perform safety checks on battery, brakes, lift controls, fire extinguisher.
• Record product, equipment, and warehouse damage.
• Maintain cleanliness of aisles by removing debris from floor and racks.
• Work in cooler (35°F-45°F) and freezer (-10°F to +10°F), company apparel provided.

Main Ingredients of the Job

As a US FOODS® Forklift Operator you will be critical to the US FOODS® team and one of the important faces of our organization Your efforts are the foundation that defines US FOODS® success based on our pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service.

• Transports pallet loads of product from the dock to the correct warehouse slot using powered industrial equipment and ensures all pallets are secure in designated slots to avoid damage or injury when the product is selected.
• Replenishes pick slots with products from reserve slots to maintain inventory levels for night shift selection.
• Performs operations and safety checks, including battery, brakes, lift controls, and fire extinguisher.
• Records all product, equipment, and warehouse damage.
• Mantains the cleanliness of aisles by removing any debris from the floor and racks.
• Work continually in cooler (35°F- 45°F) & freezer (-10°F to +10°F), company apparel provided

What you bring to the table

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Related Experience: Job-related certification for Material Handling Equipment; Prior Selector and/or Forklift experience is preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide); must be able to understand Voxware commands.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $21.00 and $26.00. As applicable, this role may also receive overtime compensation.
