Job summary

US FOODS® is seeking a Day Forklift Operator in Charlotte to load and move palletized products within temperature-controlled environments.

The role requires forklift experience and safety checks, with pay at $23.57 per hour. Training, overtime, and comprehensive benefits start from day one, including health, dental, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Related experience: certification for Material Handling Equipment preferred.
• Able to read and write legibly; basic math; understand Voxware commands.

Responsibilities

• Transport pallet loads from dock to correct warehouse slot using powered equipment and ensure pallets are secure.
• Replenish pick slots from reserve to maintain inventory levels.
• Perform battery, brakes, lift controls and fire extinguisher safety checks.
• Record product, equipment, and warehouse damage.
• Maintain aisle cleanliness by removing debris.
• Work in cooler (35°F-45°F) and freezer (-10°F to +10°F).

Main Ingredients of the Job

As a US FOODS® Forklift Operator you will be critical to the US FOODS® team and one of the important faces of our organization Your efforts are the foundation that defines US FOODS® success based on our pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service.

Transports pallet loads of product from the dock to the correct warehouse slot using powered industrial equipment and ensures all pallets are secure in designated slots to avoid damage or injury when the product is selected.

Replenishes pick slots with products from reserve slots to maintain inventory levels for night shift selection.

Performs operations and safety checks, including battery, brakes, lift controls, and fire extinguisher.

Records all product, equipment, and warehouse damage.

Maintains the cleanliness of aisles by removing any debris from the floor and racks.

Work continually in cooler (35°F- 45°F) & freezer (-10°F to +10°F), company apparel provided

What you bring to the table

High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Related Experience: Job-related certification for Material Handling Equipment; Prior Selector and/or Forklift experience is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide); must be able to understand Voxware commands.

Compensation and other details

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between $21.00 and $26.00. As applicable, this role may also receive overtime compensation.
