Job summary

TACOM (SIAD) is seeking a Forklift Operator/Material Handler to safely move, store, and manage materials in support of sustainment and maintenance activities. You will operate forklifts, verify materials, and transport goods within a warehouse or depot.

The role requires experience with forklifts, attention to inventory, and compliance with safety standards; physical work and potential overtime are expected in a government-contract setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supplemental technical or vocational training preferred.
• Typically 1–3 years of experience operating forklifts or performing material handling duties.
• Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of safe forklift operation and material handling practices.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, packing lists, and inventory documentation.
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Transport parts, tools, supplies, and equipment to designated storage or work locations.
• Issue and distribute materials to maintenance and operational teams as required.
• Maintain accurate inventory records, logs, and documentation and assist with cycle counts and audits.
• Inspect forklifts and equipment prior to use and report deficiencies.
• Follow all safety requirements, traffic rules, and load-handling procedures and properly secure loads.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and storage areas; assist with packing, labeling, and staging for shipment; support material kitting for work orders.
