Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator for our distribution center.

The role offers a fixed wage of $25.90 per hour and a Monday–Friday schedule with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, life insurance, PTO and holidays. Ideal candidates have forklift/warehouse experience and can lift up to 75 lbs.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to safely operate forklift to transport products and load/unload trucks.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety data sheets, etc.
• Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the work area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.
