Job summary

Olam Edible Nuts is hiring a Material Handler to move production and materials throughout the facility, including loading and unloading loads from trucks using forklifts and other lifting devices. The role emphasizes safety and accuracy in handling materials.

You will maintain forklift certification, support production, perform daily inspections, and ensure quality according to GMP and HACCP standards while working on-site in peanut-processing environments.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions.
• Understand written and oral communications and instructions.
• Initiative and self-starting ability is important.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move product, ingredients, and other material with a forklift throughout the plant and surrounding area following safety procedures.
• Become and maintain forklift certification.
• Ensure proper operation of processing equipment and quality as per customer orders; assist operators as needed.
• Weigh materials or products and complete documentation accurately.
• Inventory materials in production area and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Perform daily forklift inspections and other safety checks as required.
• Move materials onto/off pallets, skids or lifting devices.
• Work in outdoor conditions and around fumes, dust, and mists; exposure to allergens (peanuts).
• Follow GMP, sanitation, safety, and HACCP programs; comply with all relevant rules.
