Job summary

MI Metals, Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator to support the extrusion floor by safely operating forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move raw materials, finished products, and production supplies throughout the facility.

Under supervision of the Extrusion Manager, you will help maintain workflow efficiency, ensure product quality standards are met, and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Significant forklift operation experience in a similar environment.
• Obtain a valid MI Metals operator’s license before operating powered equipment.
• Inspect forklift at start of shift and report maintenance issues.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules, quality and customer service standards.
• Identify safety hazards and report them to management.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and material-handling equipment to transport materials.
• Assist extrusion department and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Maintain neat and organized WIP materials to allow easy movement.
• Stage materials for continuous production flow as directed by Team Leader or Manager.
• Assist line operations as needed and relocate pallets as required.
• Perform inventory checks and counts when tasked.
