Join to apply for the Forklift Operator - Janssen Dr 1st Shift role at WSI (Warehouse Specialists, LLC)

We are hiring for a non-rotating 1st Shift Monday through Friday 6:00am - 2:00pm Forklift Operator to provide safe and efficient material handling to support customer needs. This full-time benefitted position reports to the facility manager and may occasionally require weekends, holidays, and overtime. Our competitive benefits include pay increases at 6, 12, and 18 months, shift differential, and other corporate paid plans.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Safely inspect, unload, and put away product from inbound trailers, containers, and railcars via lift truck.
  • Operate a lift truck to pick orders and load product onto trailers, containers, and railcars.
  • Utilize all material handling technology to maximize efficiency and maintain accurate inventory.
  • Ensure all safety and standard operating procedures are followed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Reliable transportation to report to scheduled shift and travel between facilities, as needed.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills for accurate counts and paperwork.
  • Ability to operate technology equipment including RF Scanners to manage inventory.
  • Previous knowledge or a desire to learn about the product being handled.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks.
  • Professional communication skills, both verbally and written.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Lift truck experience; loading and unloading trailers, containers, and railcars is a plus.
  • Experience in a warehouse environment is a plus.
  • Experience operating lift truck attachments such as forks, carton clamp, roll grab, and pulp clamp.
  • Experience operating sit-down lifts.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods in varying temperatures.
  • Repetitive twisting or turning to drive in reverse; standing, climbing, kneeling, stooping, and squatting as needed.
  • Ability to turn steering wheel requiring full arm and shoulder rotation.
  • Willingness and ability to safely lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Willingness to wear PPE and uniforms provided by the company.
