Join to apply for the Forklift Operator - IL 1st Shift role at WSI (Warehouse Specialists, LLC)

We are hiring 1st shift Forklift Operators to provide safe and efficient material handling to support customer needs. The hours for this position are 7:00am - 3:00pm. This full-time role reports to the Assistant Facility Manager and may occasionally require weekends, holidays, and overtime.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Safely inspect, unload, and store products from inbound trailers, containers, and railcars using lift trucks.
• Operate stand-up and order picker lift trucks to fulfill orders, replenish inventory, and load trailers and railcars.
• Utilize material handling technology to maximize efficiency and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Follow all safety protocols and operating procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Reliable transportation to report to scheduled shifts.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills for accurate counts and paperwork.
• Ability to operate RF scanners and other technology equipment.
• Willingness to learn about the products handled at WSI.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Follow instructions and complete tasks reliably.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience operating lift trucks, including with attachments.
• Previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Experience with order pickers and stand-up lift trucks.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods in varying temperatures.
• Repetitive twisting, turning, and physical movements including climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to wear PPE and uniforms provided.
