Job description

Description

We are hiring a 1st shift Forklift Operators to provide safe and efficient material handling to support customer needs. The hours for this position are 7:00am - 3:00pm. This full-time position will report to the Assistant Facility Manager 40HrHaz and may occasionally require weekends, holidays, and overtime.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Safely inspect, unload, and put away product from inbound trailers, containers, and railcars via lift truck.
  • Operate a stand up and order picker lift truck to pick orders, replenish inventory to pick locations, and load orders onto trailers, containers, and railcars.
  • Utilize all material handling technology to maximize efficiency and maintain accurate inventory.
  • Ensure all safety and position standards of operating procedures are followed.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Reliable transportation to report to scheduled shift.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills to ensure accurate counts and paperwork.
  • Ability to operate technology equipment including Radio Frequency (RF) Scanners to manage inventory.
  • Previous knowledge or a desire to learn about product handled at WSI.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions and follow through on assigned tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous lift truck experience; loading and unloading trailers, containers, and railcars.
  • Previous experience working in warehouse environment, preferred.
  • Experience operating lift trucks with attachments such as forks, drum clamps or roll clamps.
  • Experience operating an order picker and stand-up lift truck.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended times throughout hot and cold temperatures.
  • Ability to repetitively twist or turn to drive in reverse and stand, climb, kneel, stoop and squat, as needed.
  • Ability to turn steering wheel on lift truck requiring full rotation of arms and shoulders.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms provided by the company.
