Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Forklift Operator II to load and unload goods from trucks and rail cars, and to maintain accurate shipping records. The role requires following company procedures and working under supervision to ensure safe, efficient material handling.

Responsibilities include moving materials, labeling products, performing equipment checks, and maintaining a clean yard. Candidates should have basic math skills, 6 months to 1 year forklift experience, and be at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th-grade education; HS diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Prefers 6 months to 1 year forklift or similar equipment experience.
• Basic math and inventory techniques knowledge preferred.
• Must successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Break packs to correct size and label material before loading.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete preshift startup equipment checklist and report problems.

• Follow forklift rules and company policies.
• Participate in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks and rail cars
• Moves material and other products from storage to work areas and vice versa as required.
• Breaks packs to correct size and labels material before loading product on a truck or rail car
• Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Completes preshiftstartup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
• Maintains yard and ensures it is organized and clean.
• Completes paperwork as required.
• Empty trash and wood hoppers.
• Follows forklift rules and policies as described by Company policy.
• Participates in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th-grade basic education High school diploma GED preferred but not required
• Prefers 6 months to 1 year of experience driving a forklift or operating similar equipment.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred
• Successfully complete Forklift Driver licensing process
• Must be at least 18 years of age
