Job summary

NFI Industries in the United States (Ohio) is seeking a Forklift Operator I to move, stack, and count merchandise using forklifts and related equipment. You will perform pre-operation inspections, ensure safe operation, and support inbound/outbound shipments while maintaining inventory accuracy.

You will use RF scanning devices, assist with cycle counts, and follow safety procedures. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and may need forklift certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Preferred 6 months of forklift operation experience and/or experience using warehouse distribution equipment.
• Must qualify and pass NFI forklift certification.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective customer service skills and basic math competencies.

Responsibilities

• Operates all material handling equipment safely and efficiently, following established work practices and safety procedures
• Possesses basic understanding of equipment safety and adheres to all safety protocols
• Completes and documents required pre-operation inspection forms for equipment
• Stacks and stores merchandise in designated areas using forklift, clamp, or push-pull equipment
• Unloads inbound shipments safely and moves product to storage locations
• Pulls and prepares products for shipment in accordance with customer and operational requirements
• Verifies that the correct quantity and product type are loaded and shipped
• Performs order picking in an accurate, timely, and customer-service-focused manner
• Moves product from staging or storage areas into trailers for outbound loads
• Maintains required documentation and reports to support inventory accuracy and product security
• Assists with physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts as directed
• Ensures inventory is rotated in accordance with company standards
• Identifies and reports inventory discrepancies to the inventory control team and participates in resolution
• Uses RF scanning devices to support accurate inventory management
• Reports safety concerns, hazards, or incidents to management promptly
• Demonstrates basic Excel skills and general computer proficiency to complete required tasks
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by the role and determined by management
