Job summary

UFP Industries currently seeks a Forklift Operator I to move material between inventory and production, ensuring accurate paperwork and records. You will support production by providing materials per schedule and maintaining orderly inventory yards.

The role emphasizes routine forklift operation, adherence to safety rules, and participation in CI and safety programs, with opportunities to assist in bottlenecks and general maintenance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th grade education; HS diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift driving experience preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Must complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move material in process from one station to another.
• Band, wrap and pack finished goods and label material.
• Move finished goods to inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and material needs.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment checklist and report problems.
• Maintain organized rough material and finished goods inventory yard.
• Complete production records as required.
• Follow forklift rules and company policies.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
