Job summary

Cox Automotive in Elkridge, Maryland seeks a Tow Truck Driver I for DOT management level duties. The role is a day shift with no remote work; pay ranges $20.00–$30.00 hourly, with possible incentive opportunities based on location and performance.

Responsibilities include vehicle handling, safety inspections, and operating multiple vehicle support equipment on the auction lot. Requirements: HS diploma or GED with 3 years in related fields, or equivalent, plus a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 3 years of related field experience, or an equivalent degree/certification.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience operating tow trucks and forklifts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-trip safety inspections before beginning work.
• Make minor repairs or report issues in writing to the mechanic or supervisor.
• Safely load, unload, and maneuver forklifts with 18-foot forks across the lot.
• Read stock numbers and verify vehicle info before loading onto forks.
• Move vehicles to inventory staging, sale stalls, or storage as directed.
• Operate tow truck, service vehicle, gas truck and forklift as needed.
• Position vehicles for insurance inspections, repairs, or supervisor request.
• Load vehicles on transports or fleet trucks for off-site transport.
