Job summary

Andersen Corporation in Bayport is seeking a forklift operator to safely sort, ship, receive, and move materials across plant areas. You will follow standard work, ensure safety, and support continuous improvement initiatives, including cross-training teammates and using AMS tools to resolve issues.

Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma, 3 years forklift experience, PIT license, and the ability to lift heavy loads.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic (or intermediate) computer skills
• Able to read invoices, packing slips, emails and reports
• Must be able to operate multiple types of PIT (forklift, fork attach, walkie, sit-down)
• PIT training / PIT license required
• Minimum 3 years forklift experience
• Able to lift 75 pounds repetitively
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout
• Communicate clearly and work well in a team

Responsibilities

• Adheres to standard work, processes, and quality specs.
• Follow safety parameters to protect equipment and coworkers.
• Support continuous improvement and daily safety interactions.
• Identify problems and implement fixes with AMS tools.
• Operate forklifts and loading/unloading per procedures.
• Stage material for inbound/outbound shipping and cross-docking.
• Create bills of lading, verify deliveries and correct locations.
• Provide advanced training to other operators and assist cross-functional teams.
