Job summary

R+L Carriers in Des Moines, IA is seeking a full-time Forklift Operator to move freight safely in and out of enclosed trailers up to 53’ long on a roofed dock.

Starting pay is $25.39 per hour with Monday – Friday shifts and multiple shift options; you’ll earn vacation after 90 days and enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance, 401(k) with company matching, Paid Vacation & Holidays, and access to employee resorts.

Qualifications

• Must be able to bend, lift and stoop without difficulty.
• Ability to read manifests.
• Ability to read/interact with a computer display.
• Forklift experience.
• Must be dependable and able to work in a fast pace environment.
• Previous forklift exp in a fast-paced environment.
• Some LTL experiences.

Responsibilities

• Move freight safely in and out of enclosed trailers up to 53’ long.
• Operate a forklift on a roofed but non-climate-controlled dock.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Read and interpret manifests and interact with computer displays.

R+L Carriers has an immediate need for Full-time Forklift Operators at our Des Moines, IA service center. As a Forklift Operator, you will be tasked with moving all different types of freight safely in and out of enclosed trailers up to 53’ long. You will be operating a forklift on a roofed but non-climate-controlled dock.
