Candidates should have proven experience handling heavy steel and loading/unloading safely. This is not a warehouse position; attention to safety and accurate paperwork are essential for daily operations.

Forklift Operator for Structural Steel

$20 - $29 Hour / Depending on Experience (DOE)

Job Summary

Agate Steel is looking for experienced structural steel forklift drivers. Agate Steel's Forklifts have 36,000 lbs capacity. Must possess high structural steel forklift skill requirements - Not a warehouse forklift position! Must have priorexperience with steel moving/loading/unloading safely onto equipment, and semi-trucks. The forklift driver is responsible for safely moving 40-70 foot beams in Agate Steel's OUTDOOR steel yard. Only apply if you haveexperience with heavy steel forklift driving.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate 36,000 lbsforklift to move raw structural steel profiles and completed projects and on/off truck.
• Safely move large steel beams between staging areas
• Accurately stages material for loading as directed
• Label product for inventory and manufacturing
• Complete daily paperwork including inspection checklist for Forklifts
• Mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and understanding of units of measure
• Comfortable working majority of shift in OUTDOOR environment
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to read and interpret manifests, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
