Job summary

XPO is seeking a Forklift Operator in Roanoke, VA to efficiently sort, load, and unload freight on a dock. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks, scan shipments with handheld devices, and ensure freight is secured inside trailers.

The role requires the ability to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends. The position is on a non climate-controlled dock, with lifting tasks up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally more than 70 lbs, and is Motor Carrier Act Exempt.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
• Available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight.
• Use forklift and pallet jack to move goods.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
• Work on a dock, following safety policies and using mobile devices to track shipments.
