Job summary

ReaderLink in Salem, VA seeks a Powered Industrial Truck Operator to safely operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks and pallet jacks in a high-volume distribution center.

You will load, unload, stack and transport products, perform daily equipment checks and follow safety rules. Basic WMS/RF experience and one year of forklift operation are required, with OSHA-compliant certification training provided by ReaderLink.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in the safe and competent operation of powered industrial truck(s) in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to pass the ReaderLink Powered Industrial Truck Safety & Certification training course to obtain license valid for three years.
• Basic computer skills with WMS, RF and scanning experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety rules to maintain personal safety and the safety of others including maintaining clean work areas.
• Operate electric powered sit-down electric forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks and pallet jacks in compliance with all OSHA regulations.
• Load, unload, retrieve, stack and store products in a neat, safe and productive manner.
• Transport product or supplies to designated areas to support operational needs.
• Use pallet wrapping machinery, floor scales, RF equipment, automated dock equipment and company issued utility knife.
• Perform Forklift Operator Daily Checklists on assigned equipment.
• Communicate and report any accidents, near misses or hazardous conditions to a supervisor immediately.
• Perform general housekeeping duties as needed.
