Job summary

WPI in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Utility Person I to operate a forklift, assist with shipping/receiving, and prepare equipment for shipment. The role includes cleaning, basic maintenance, and assisting technicians in a shop setting.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver license with a clean driving record. Expect regular hours, occasional extended hours, and shop/yard work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to operate forklifts, steam cleaners/parts cleaners and general hand tools.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Keep shop clean and organized.
• General maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Pick-up and delivery as required.
• Maintain steam cleaner/parts cleaner equipment.
• Ensure material/components removed from vat are cleaned and organized.
• Steam cleaning of parts, engines, and other equipment.
• Assist Technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
