Job summary

WPI in Louisiana is seeking a Utility Person I to operate a forklift, load and unload parts, and assist with shipping, receiving, and prep for shipment. You will keep the shop clean and organized while performing general maintenance and occasional deliveries.

Ideal candidates can operate a steam cleaner/parts cleaner, use hand tools, and work with overhead cranes. The job requires lifting up to 50 pounds and a clean driving record with a valid license; standard hours are 8 a.m.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate forklifts effectively.
• Must operate steam/parts cleaners safely and efficiently.
• Must use general hand tools with proficiency.
• Must be able to operate overhead cranes.
• Must have good organizational skills and be able to lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Keep shop clean and organized.
• General maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Pick-up and delivery as required.
• Maintain steam cleaner/parts cleaner equipment.
• Ensure material/components from vats are cleaned and organized.
• Steam cleaning of parts, engines, and equipment.
• Assist Technicians as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
