Job summary

Capital Lumber Company in Denver, CO seeks a warehouse forklift operator to move and load lumber as part of daily deliveries and stock management.

You will inspect equipment, follow safety rules, and perform daily forklift inspections in a fast-paced outdoor warehouse environment. The role requires 1–4 years of forklift experience and a valid forklift certification.

Hourly pay ranges from $20 to $22 with benefits including PTO, holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• 1 to 4 years previous experience with forklifts and other machinery.
• Has Forklift Certification.
• Good knowledge of lumber products.
• Ability to model the Capital values and to provide innovative solutions.
• Ability to deliver high quality, detailed error free work on a consistent basis.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to the extent required to receive and communicate information as necessary to the position.

Responsibilities

• Read handwriting or system generated sales orders to determine product.
• Note all special instructions for filling an order.
• Accurately pull delivery orders and stage for loading as directed.
• Accurately pull delivery orders and package as directed.
• Load product on trailers for delivery.
• Unload product from incoming rail cars or trailers checking manifest.
• Note discrepancies and review with Supervisor.
• Safely load product on customer’s truck/trailer per safety rules.
• Notify Supervisor of unsafe vehicle requests or overloads.
• Operate forklift safely at all times per OSHA and company standards.
• Perform daily forklift inspections as required by OSHA and Capital Lumber Company standards.
• Notify Supervisory of equipment maintenance or safety concerns.
• Band lumber for storage or shipping.
• Assist in moving inventory within yard area as directed.
• Properly store inventory – level and covered as necessary.
• Assist in inventory or cycle counts as directed.
• May operate saw equipment intermittently.
• Keep all lanes and areas clear for traffic.
• Perform other duties as assigned and adapt to changes.
