Job summary

Hilmar Cheese Company seeks a skilled Forklift Operator to support shipping and receiving in our cheese plants. You will organize products, operate all equipment, and report malfunctions while maintaining safety and accuracy in paperwork.

The role requires lifting up to 60 lbs, working in a cold environment (approximately 35 degrees), and the ability to work 8- or 12-hour shifts including weekends and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management software and RF scanners.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive work environment and foster teamwork.
• Follow safety procedures and SOPs at all times.
• Stage products for shipment and verify paperwork.
• Operate equipment and report malfunctions to supervisor.
• Inspect inbound products and ensure correct labeling and dates.
• Maintain cleanliness in cold storage and surrounding areas.
• Complete daily forklift inspections and report unsafe conditions.
• Coordinate with logistics on shipping schedules and changes.
