Job summary

Quirch Foods, LLC in Hammond, LA is hiring a Forklift Operator to move pallets, load/unload trucks, and transport inventory between the dock and racks. You will inspect incoming products, keep the warehouse organized, and assist with cycle counts.

Candidates must be 18+, able to read English, and operate forklifts and scanners safely. OSHA certification is preferred. You will work in a cold environment and lift 20–100 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Forklift certification and OSHA certification preferred.
• Able to read, write, communicate, and comprehend English to perform tasks (labels, pick lists, scanners, signage).
• Able to operate forklifts and handheld scanners with training.
• Familiar with CK31 & CK71 scanners is a plus.
• Good judgement to operate forklift safely and efficiently.
• Work in cold environments and withstand cold temperatures.
• Meet physical requirements: standing, sitting, walking, twisting, lifting, pushing, and pulling 20–100 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Operates forklift and electric pallet jack as needed.
• Inspects products being received for damages.
• Keeps warehouse organized and clean.
• Performs inventory cycle counts as needed.
• Picks orders for customers picking up product at POS.
• Receives trucks timely and accurately to load/unload per PO requirements.
• Follows protocols and inspects machinery before and after use.
• Scans and places labels on products as required.
• Maintains product integrity through proper handling and storage.
• Maintains accurate inventories.
• Ensures facility upkeep, security, and asset maintenance.
• Slots products in rack system in a timely and accurate manner.
