Job summary

Verst Group in Hebron, KY is seeking a 2nd shift Material Handler to operate electric or propane forklifts and move inventory within an automotive distribution center. The role loads and unloads trucks and places items in designated areas, following safety procedures.

Responsibilities include performing daily task paperwork, completing preventive maintenance check forms, verifying counts against shipping documents, using RF guns, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must acquire forklift certification upon hire; forklift experience preferred.
• Basic reading and math skills.
• Must be computer literate.
• Demonstrated problem solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Previous experience in Automotive Distribution environment preferred.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA Regulations and SDS/Hazmat safety preferred.
• Able to follow instructions thoroughly and accurately.
• Frequent bending, walking and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment (electric/propane forklifts) to move inventory and load/unload trucks.
• Follow internal instructions regarding movement of goods.
• Complete daily task paperwork accurately and completely.
• Complete daily preventive maintenance checks on equipment.
• Verify product counts against shipping/receiving documents and check for damage.
• Use RF gun or forms to update quantities and locations.
• Comply with safety regulations for equipment operation.
• Report equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
• Follow procedures for locking and releasing trailers.
• Assist with packing, staging, and inventory location changes.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Train new employees on standard procedures.
