Job summary

Allied Mineral Products seeks energetic forklift operators to join our Production Team in Pell City, Alabama. You will transfer batches to mixers, move finished pallets, and complete production paperwork using RF scanning and forklift equipment.

The role requires reading and following SOPs, SDSs, and safety rules, with duties including weighing pallets, stacking, and ensuring safe operation in a dusty environment. Shift variety includes mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Able to read and follow SOPs, SDSs, and safety rules.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Able to work in dusty, hot and cold environments.
  • Must pass forklift safety testing.

Responsibilities

  • Transfer batches to mixers.
  • Move finished pallets from palletizing area.
  • Complete production paperwork and forklift checklist.
  • Operate warehouse movements using RF scanning.
  • Weigh finished pallets and record on weigh sheet.
  • Stretch wrap and prepare pallets for shipment.
  • End-of-shift truck charging and shutdown procedures.
  • Rotate through production tasks during shifts.
  • Operate forklift safely at all times.
  • Maintain clean work areas and assist with housekeeping.

Job description

FORKLIFT OPERATOR

We are looking for energetic, motivated and results-driven individuals to join our Production Team.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Transfer batches to mixers.
  • Remove completed finished products on their pallets from the palletizing area.
  • Read & complete all necessary paperwork including production sheets and forklift checklist.
  • Operate and complete warehouse movements using RF Scanning equipment.
  • Weigh finished product pallet and record on weigh sheet.
  • Stretch hood all finished product pallets.
  • Put truck on charge at the end of every shift.
  • Work production rotation.
  • Always operate forklift safely.
  • Waste control: Save as much floor and vacuum cleaning as possible to recycle in the next run.
  • Perform housekeeping, labeling, batching, and bonding duties as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Must be physically and mentally fit for duty.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Dependable and able to maintain the attendance required to perform the job.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and fully understand SOPs, SDSs, labeling, written and oral instructions, safety and health regulations, and procedures within the job, this job group and the plant.
  • Ability to operate computerized equipment, read scales, recognize product problems, malfunctions and patterns out of specification.
  • Must have the ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently and pass required testing to operate a forklift.
  • Be able to understand basic mathematics.
  • Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.
Working Environment
  • The job is in a dusty and dirty environment.
  • Working in a hot and/or cold environment.
  • Shift varies from early morning start, evenings and weekends.
  • Required to wear respirator, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to qualify for and wear a respirator.
  • Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
  • Must be able to move and lift up to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Wage Rate: $18.50 - $24.65.
