Job Description

Our company is expanding and has a new opening for an experienced and skilled Forklift Operator. The primary responsibility is to support the supply chain through collecting, loading, shipping, and receiving palletized wood products. The successful candidate will operate 8,000lb lifts, load trucks including common carriers, and perform other warehouse tasks to ensure daily operations run smoothly. Flexibility with scheduled work days and shift preferences is required.

This position involves indoor and outdoor engagement.

Essential Job Functions

• Sort, pick, pack, and process inbound and outbound orders according to schedule.
• Package, tag, and consolidate orders safely and accurately to ensure they arrive in resalable condition.
• Load and unload Flatbeds and Dry Vans.
• Prepare orders for delivery vehicles as directed by management.
• Restock and consolidate merchandise accurately.
• Repack shifted, damaged, or misaligned pallets.
• Clear debris and trash at the end of the day.
• Assist other operators with assigned tasks as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Stand, bend, stoop, reach, twist, push, pull, carry, and move items up to 45 lbs.
• Work in various weather conditions including heat, cold, sun, and rain.
• Operate in environments with varied noise levels; warehouse may be dusty and noisy.
• Forklifts may emit gas and stop traffic in common areas.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 1 year of forklift experience.
• Basic math and reading/comprehension skills.
• Previous shipping/receiving experience is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of warehouse policies and procedures is a plus.
• Prior forklift certification(s) is a plus (re-certification provided upon hiring).
• Reliable and punctual, available from 8AM until the last truck is loaded.
• Ethical, trustworthy, coachable, and skilled in problem-solving and handy work.

Job Details

• Type: Full-time
• Hourly Rate: $12 to $14 plus overtime (paid weekly)
• Hours: 8AM to 6PM, some Saturdays (overtime paid weekly)
