Job description

Position Overview

The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in warehouse and production operations by safely and efficiently loading, unloading, and transporting materials, supporting overall workflow.

Compensation

$23.21 per hour, plus $1.25 per hour for shift differential. Overtime as needed. Quarterly bonus structure.

Shift Details

• 3rd shift (8:30 PM to 5:00 AM)
• Overtime may be available and sometimes mandatory. Seeking individuals who want 40+ hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate FEFO staging to ensure proper rotation of expiration‑dated materials.
• Read and interpret production schedules, customer orders, and work orders to determine material movement needs.
• Transport and distribute materials from receiving or production to designated storage locations.
• Sort and organize materials based on size, type, or product code.
• Support inventory management, including perishable goods storage and accurate staging.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures; report unsafe conditions or damage immediately.
• Contribute to quality and efficiency improvements within the warehouse.

Required Experience

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of stand‑up forklift experience.

Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift certification from a recognized institution required within 48 hours of employment.
• Preferred: Prior stand‑up forklift experience, barcoding knowledge, and experience with automated data collection systems.
• Ability to work overtime, irregular schedules, or rotating shifts.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Basic math skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Physical Demands

• Frequent use of hands for handling materials, tools, and equipment.
• Occasional sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, or smelling.
• Ability to lift or move over 50 pounds occasionally.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

• Moderate noise levels typical of warehouse settings.
• Occasional exposure to airborne particles.
• Exposure to extreme temperatures ranging from below 0°F to above 90°F depending on the work area.
