Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to manage the safe loading, unloading, and transferring of materials. Job description

Loading/Unloading/Transferring Materials

1. Operates forklift truck according to required safety standards.
2. Moves materials to/from warehouse(s), production line, packaging line, etc.
3. Unloads/loads shuttles.
4. Picks and stages orders.
5. Removes used items such as pallets, tier sheets, trash bins from production, packaging, and warehouse areas.

Documentation

1. Completes required paperwork (e.g., tally sheets, slot change, shuttle transfer).
2. Scans materials via barcode tags in and out of inventory.
3. Records receipt/loading of materials on driver paperwork (BOL).
4. Completes "Forklift Operator's Daily Checklist" to confirm forklift/equipment is in proper working order.

Other

1. Assists production/packaging line operators by removing plastic and straps from pallets as needed.
2. Performs routine maintenance such as filling propane tanks and checking valves.
3. Maintains a clean work area by picking up trash, sweeping floors, and wiping down equipment.

Education and Experience

1. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
2. Minimum 2 years of forklift experience.
3. Ability to use basic math and writing skills for paperwork.
4. Working knowledge of warehouse operations or trainability.
5. Capable of operating a lift truck safely and efficiently, following plant and company rules.
6. Must pass forklift training tests and on-the-job assessments.
7. Demonstrated observation skills.
