Job summary

Abbott in Altavista, VA is looking for an Operator Warehouse Distribution Center to manage material flow, loading and unloading, and order fulfillment at our Nutrition manufacturing site.

You will use a Cambar RF system, maintain FIFO, and operate reach forklifts to ensure accurate inventory and shipping paperwork. Prior forklift experience is preferred and safety is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely, accurate flow of materials from inventory to staging areas.
• Ensure timely, accurate flow of finished goods to shipments.
• Load and unload materials using a forklift.
• Use Cambar RF system to store, pick, or assemble finished product.
• Follow ship orders and warehouse paperwork and RF terminals for shipping/receiving.
• Maintain FIFO and operate reach forklift with push-pull attachment.
• Verify item numbers, quantities, lot numbers, and release status on receipts.
• Maintain knowledge of finished product nomenclature and procedures.
• Keep the warehouse and finished goods area clean and organized.
• Maintain accurate records and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to meet business needs.

What You’ll Work On

• Coordinate timely and accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to desired areas
• Coordinate timely accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to customers and other destinations
• Responsible for loading and unloading of material with the use of a forklift
• Via use of Cambar radio frequency inventory system, the employee stores, picks, or assembles finished product for shipment
• Understand and properly utilize ship orders and associated warehouse paperwork and RF terminals for shipping/receiving finished product.
• Maintain proper FIFO flow of finished products. Includes operation of a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment (reach forklift)
• Store, pick or assemble finished goods within the warehouse, verifying the item number, quantity, release status, and lot number. Check materials against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills or other pertinent documentation to assure conformity and accuracy
• Utilize knowledge of finished product nomenclature and procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and of the finished goods warehouse
• Maintain accurate records and reconciles inventory errors
• All other tasks as assigned by management to meet the needs of the business
