Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Altavista, VA, is seeking an Operator Warehouse Distribution Center to coordinate material flow, load and unload with a forklift, and ensure accurate shipments.

You will use the Cambar RF system to store, pick, or assemble finished goods, maintain FIFO, and keep records clean and accurate. This role also offers competitive hourly pay and Abbott benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: Fork-Lift experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely and accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to desired areas.
• Coordinate timely accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to customers and other destinations.
• Load and unload of material with a forklift.
• Store, pick, or assemble finished product using Cambar RF inventory system.
• Understand and properly utilize ship orders and warehouse paperwork and RF terminals.
• Maintain FIFO flow of finished products and operate a forklift (reach truck).
• Maintain accuracy of records and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

What You’ll Work On

• Coordinate timely and accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to desired areas
• Coordinate timely accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to customers and other destinations
• Responsible for loading and unloading of material with the use of a forklift
• Via use of Cambar radio frequency inventory system, the employee stores, picks, or assembles finished product for shipment
• Understand and properly utilize ship orders and associated warehouse paperwork and RF terminals for shipping/receiving finished product.
• Maintain proper FIFO flow of finished products. Includes operation of a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment (reach forklift)
• Store, pick or assemble finished goods within the warehouse, verifying the item number, quantity, release status, and lot number. Check materials against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills or other pertinent documentation to assure conformity and accuracy
• Utilize knowledge of finished product nomenclature and procedures
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and of the finished goods warehouse
• Maintain accurate records and reconciles inventory errors
• All other tasks as assigned by management to meet the needs of the business

The base pay for this position is $17.15 – $34.25 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
