Job summary

Chelten House Products, Inc. in Swedesboro, New Jersey, is seeking a Forklift Operator to join our distribution center team. You will operate forklifts, assist with rail dock procedures, use RF scanners, and ensure accurate inventory.

The role includes cycle counts, order staging, inbound material handling, QA sampling prep, safety hazard identification, and adherence to quality and customer service standards. We offer competitive pay and union benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Forklift operator with 2+ years of sit-down forklift experience preferred.
• Must be forklift certified or able to become certified by Chelten House.
• Reliable, safe operator with good communication and paperwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift, hand truck, or stand-up lift.
• Assist with rail cart docking procedures.
• Use wireless RF scanning to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Adhere to quality and customer service standards.
• Perform cycle counts as required.
• Pick, wrap and stage orders for shipping.
• Unload inbound material, inspect for damage, compare to packing lists.
• Label and stage material for QA sampling and storage.
• Inspect and perform forklift checklist for equipment.
• Identify safety hazards in the workplace.
• Consolidate partial pallets for incoming finished goods.

What We Need:

• We need a Forklift Operator responsible for operating and maneuvering forklifts throughout our distribution center.

What You Will Do:

• You will operate a forklift, hand truck or stand up lift
• Be trained to assist with rail cart docking procedures
• You will use wireless RF scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of inventory
• You will adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company
• You will perform cycle counts as required
• You will pick, wrap and stage orders to be shipped
• You will unload inbound material, inspect for damage and compare to packing lists
• You will label and stage material for QA sampling and storage put away
• You will inspect and perform forklift checklist for required equipment
• You will help us identify safety hazards in the workplace
• You will consolidate partial pallets for incoming finished goods

What You Need:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Minimum 2 years experience operating a sit down forklift
• Forklift certified or ability to become forklift certified by Chelten House
• Safely operates a forklift in shared forklift-pedestrian work areas
• Must possess good written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrate ability to complete neat and accurate paperwork
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs (anything above 50lbs requires team lift and/or use of equipment)
