Job summary

VLS Environmental Solutions, LLC is seeking a Forklift Operator for our Gray Court, SC facility on the second shift (Mon–Fri, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM). You will unload/load wastes, inspect equipment, and maintain safe handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in a busy warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include following safety policies, operating forklifts with attachments, verifying waste manifests, and performing routine maintenance.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of shipping/receiving and warehouse experience.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Able to operate forklift/heavy equipment.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Lift up to 75 lbs.
• Climbing/balancing/bending/crawling and standing/sitting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health & Safety is the top priority and follow all policies.
• Monitor area equipment and report major/minor issues or breakdowns.
• Unload and load wastes in compliance with company rules and regulations.
• Offload and check in inbound waste streams.
• Perform daily preventive maintenance and inspections on equipment.
• Load/unload waste safely according to regulations.
• Operate a fork truck with attachments.
• Check manifest types/quantities against containers received.
• Take samples for analysis and compatibility checks.
• Keep work areas, walls, pits, drains and floors clean and safe.
• Understand coding and labeling systems for containers.
• Support additional duties assigned by the Plant Manager.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for operating a forklift in our alternative engineered fuel facility in Gray Court, SC, second shift (Monday - Friday 1p - 9:30p)

Job Duties

• Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
• Monitors equipment assigned to the area and notifies the supervisor of major/minor issues and breakdowns
• Responsible for the unloading and loading of wastes in conformance to company rules and regulations
• Offloads and Check-in inbound waste streams
• Must perform daily PM and inspections on operating equipment
• Load, unload waste safely in accordance with Company, federal, state, and local regulations/rules
• Operate a fork truck with attachments
• Check for inconsistencies with manifested types and quantities with actual containers received in accordance with Company rules and regulations
• Use proper equipment to remove samples of materials for analysis and compatibility checks
• Responsible for keeping work areas, walls, pit drain, and floor in a clean and safe condition
• Understand Coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containers
• Position handles materials and will often require the use of PPE: Boots, Gloves, Suits, Eye/Ear Protection, and Respirator
• Shovels, sweeps, and cleans the area in which they are assigned periodically throughout the day
• Any other duty assigned by the Plant Manager

Requirements
