Job Description:

• Operate large forklifts to load lumber pallets onto the delivery trucks
• Load and unload lumber with lift truck
• Moving large loads on lumber onto delivery trucks
• Put together lumber packages
• Maneuver heavy objects
• Use two-way radio
• Inspect equipment before and during operation
• Read and understand instruments on equipment, follow safety procedures, read and understand paperwork from shipping and receiving

Requirements:

• Must be proficient on a lift truck and 6 months minimum lift truck experience
• Ability to perform 4-function math: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
• Previous lumber experience is required
• High degree of attention required
• High School diploma or equivalent is required

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
• Frequently lift up to 50 pounds
• Adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
• Ability to wear steel toed or reinforced toed boots
• Good sense of balance
• Good eye-hand-foot coordination
• Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
• Abilityto work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
• Will be working in and outdoors
