Job summary

Dessert Holdings is seeking a Forklift Operator for the 1st shift (Receiving 7AM-3:30PM) to support production, packaging, and shipping operations. You will move materials, load trailers, and ensure accurate counts while adhering to SOPs and quality standards.

The role requires forklift certification, the ability to lift up to 55 pounds, and a willingness to work overtime in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Responsibilities

• Count finished product cases from production.
• Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
• Conduct cycle counts to verify materials are available for production.
• Stage finished product for loading.
• Load finished product onto truck.
• Receive inbound raw materials and move to warehouse storage.
• Operate forklift safely and maintain daily logs.
• Follow SOPs and SQF/HACCP/GMP practices.
• Keep work area clean and report hazards.

What You'll Do Everyday

• Properly counts finished product cases from production.
• Packages finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
• Conduct cycle counts to ensure materials are available for production.
• Stages finished product for loading.
• Loads finished product onto truck.
• Unloads raw materials from truck.
• Drives box truck to shipping freezer and unloads finished product and returns box truck to dry warehouse for reloading process.
• Receives inbound raw materials.
• Moves raw materials to warehouse storage.
• Responsible for quality control; no damaged product is sent out. No damaged raw material is accepted in.
• Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Safely operates forklift.
• Completes daily logs.
• Communicates with operators from other shifts.
• Cleans and maintains work area.
• Turns off and locks out equipment when not in use.
• Understands the management of Quality Systems and is familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices which help ensure the safety within the workplace and the production of a safe and quality product(s).
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

What We're Looking For

• Must have reliable transportation and be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Must be willing to work overtime, including weekends if necessary.
• Must be able to read and write in either English or Spanish.
• Must be able to work in a fast paced, team environment.
• Able to stay focused in a loud working environment.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment requiring strict work/safety rules 100% of the time.
• Demonstrates experience with loading trailers.
• Must pass Forklift training and receive certification.
• Demonstrates safe forklift and electric walking pallet jack operations.
• Use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to stoop, kneel or bend; must be able to talk and hear and expected to stand for at least eight hours a day.
• Employee must lift up to 55 pounds and is required to ask for assistance if limit is exceeded.
• Must be able to work in a food allergens environment.
• Working environment provides exposure to environmental changes (heat, cold, dampness, and chemicals).
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is expected to actively participate on the production floor.
