Penguin Random House is hiring for a 1st Shift Forklift Operator to support our Westminster, MD distribution center. The role involves operating forklifts to pick, pack and ship books while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The position requires ability to lift up to 35lbs regularly, with occasional lifts up to 50lbs, and the candidate must be at least 18 years old. Background and drug screening are part of the process.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 35lbs regularly, occasionally up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to safely operate powered industrial equipment (power jacks and pallet stackers).
• Minimum age is 18.
• Prior experience is preferred.
• Must be able to operate a variety of forklift equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift equipment on 1st shift (Mon-Fri 7am-3pm).
• Support picking, packing and shipping processes as part of the distribution center team.
• Undergo background check and drug screening as part of the employment process.
• Maintain safety and quality standards in daily operations.
• Protect confidential information in accordance with EEO guidelines.
