Job summary

Pratt Industries is seeking a qualified forklift operator to support our packaging production lines. You will move product from inventory to machines and load trailers while maintaining accurate scans and safe, efficient operations.

In this role you will adhere to all safety policies, perform daily equipment inspections, and keep work areas clean. Prior experience with palletized loads and production schedules is valued.

Qualifications

  • Licensed powered industrial truck operator.
  • Ability to operate a lift truck safely with minimal product damage.
  • Ability to accurately scan load tags and maintain inventories.
  • Ability to read and follow production schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and help ensure safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Utilize scanners and ensure inventories are kept accurate.
  • Ensure orders are moved to the next operation.
  • Handle product to minimize damage.

Job Description
Overview:
  • Receives product off the main banding line.
  • Checks load tags and either loads the product into the specified trailer(s), or moves product into inventory.
  • Moves product from inventory to machines.
  • Completes the required paper work.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Follow and help to ensure that fellow workers adhere to all applicable safe work policies & procedures.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment.
  • Be constantly vigilant and maintain a safe & clean work area.
  • Utilize scanners and ensure inventories are kept accurate.
  • Ensure that all orders produced are moved to the next operation.
  • Handle product to minimize damage
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a licensed powered industrial truck operator
  • Must be able to operate a lift truck safely with minimal product damage
  • Must be able to accurately scan load tags and maintain accurate inventories
  • Must be able to read and follow production schedules
Required Skills:
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Problem solving and critical thinking
Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred, not required.
Physical Demands:
  • The employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work space is not climate controlled and can reach both hot and cold extremes (30 degrees – 110 degrees Fahrenheit).
