Job summary

Watco Transloading in Houston, TX is hiring a Forklift Operator for a full-time, hourly role. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and operational excellence, with 12‑hour shifts and weekend availability. Starting pay is $21 per hour, with paid training and opportunities for growth within Watco.

You will operate forklifts, perform equipment inspections, and communicate with stakeholders during shifts. Must have a HS diploma or GED and a valid TWIC card; forklift experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Knowledge of weight limits, load distribution, and material storage protocols.
• 3 years of forklift experience with safe load handling in confined spaces.
• Basic mechanical skills with inspection, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Familiarity with WMS or handheld scanners.
• Maintain regular, dependable attendance.
• Flexible schedule with day/night shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays.
• Forklift Operator certification preferred.
• Valid TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts 8k-65k and up depending on skillset.
• Perform inspections of equipment prior to use and during operation.
• Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.
• Communicate with stakeholders throughout the shift.
• Wear Watco and OSHA mandated PPE.
• Work with a team, take direction and follow work rules.
• Demonstrate knowledge of company safety programs.
