Job summary

Reliance, Inc. in Kentucky seeks a dependable Forklift Operator to load, unload, and move inventory with heavy-capacity forklifts according to work orders and supervisor direction.

You will log inventory changes, assemble orders, and work with warehouse teams while upholding safety standards and reliable attendance; overtime and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Material handling experience preferred.
• Experience working with steel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to lift, move, and position steel and heavy material.
• Load and unload trailers and railroad cars.
• Drive forklift in various conditions and spaces.
• Log inventory location changes into the inventory system and/or paperwork.
• Log and tag inventory received according to procedures.
• Assemble customer orders according to work orders.
• Record material information on work orders and forms.
• Maintain accuracy within strict limits and standards.
• Coordinate with warehouse teams to complete tasks.
• Follow safety policies and be safety sensitive.
• May work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Perform other warehouse tasks as required.
• Undertake special projects as directed.

Job Summary

The Forklift Operator will load/unload or otherwise move inventory using heavy capacity for truck equipment according to work orders and by directive of a supervisor.

Job Function

• Responsible for operating fork truck to lift, move, position, and reposition steel and heavy material to stock areas.
• Load and unload trailers and/or railroad cars.
• Able to drive and operate the fork truck in a variety of conditions and spaces.
• Log and report inventory location changes according to specified procedure into inventory computer system and/or by paperwork.
• Log and tag inventory received according to specified procedure.
• Assemble customer orders according to work orders.
• Record pertinent material information to work orders, material, or other forms as specified by management.
• Work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Works and coordinates with multiple areas of the warehouse, and coworkers to complete tasks.
• Maintain compliance with all safety requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Safety sensitive for his/her owns safety and/or of others safety.
• Demonstrated initiative to proactively seek out work and complete tasks.
• Enthusiastic team player with a motivation positive attitude.
• Committed to a workplace of culture and respect.
• Dependable and consistent attendance/punctuality.
• May need to work overtime and weekends as assigned (depending on business needs).

Required Skills

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and write.
• Preferred candidates will have heavy capacity for truck experience
• Material handling experience preferred
• Experience working with steel preferred
