Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Forklift Operator in Zebulon, NC to move palletized stock from dock to slots and support night/day shift operations. The role requires safe forklift operation, adherence to SOPs, and accurate record-keeping. Training is provided, with opportunities for overtime and benefits from day one.

Starting pay is $23 per hour with a 21–25 USD hourly range depending on experience. Join a large distributor known for internal promotion and leadership development.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Related experience: Material Handling Equipment certification; prior forklift experience preferred.
  • Able to read and write legibly; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Transports pallet loads from the dock to designated warehouse slots using powered equipment.
  • Replenishes pick slots to maintain inventory levels for night shift selection.
  • Performs safety checks on battery, brakes, lift controls, and fire extinguisher.
  • Records product, equipment, and warehouse damage.
  • Maintains cleanliness of aisles and floors.

Job description

The starting pay rate is: $23.00 per hour

Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday: 6:00 am until completion

BASIC PURPOSE

Operate an industrial forklift to perform material handling assignments. Identify and transport material to and from storage areas and loading dock. Operate forklift/high-lift in order to lower stock to ground level pick-level slots from higher level reserve slots during night shift & day shift, and to put received stock in higher level storage slots during the day shift using safe operating practices.

Main Ingredients of the Job
  • Transports pallet loads of product from the dock to the correct warehouse slot using powered industrial equipment and ensures all pallets are secure in designated slots to avoid damage or injury when the product is selected.
  • Replenishes pick slots with products from reserve slots to maintain inventory levels for night shift selection.
  • Performs operations and safety checks, including battery, brakes, lift controls, and fire extinguisher.
  • Records all product, equipment, and warehouse damage.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of aisles by removing any debris from the floor and racks.
What you bring to the table
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Related Experience: Job-related certification for Material Handling Equipment; Prior Selector and/or Forklift experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide); must be able to understand Voxware commands.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $21.00 and $25.00.
